Cultivar
Stardawg F2
Greenpoint Seeds- Type
- Regular photoperiod
- Lineage
- Corey Haim & Guava cuts x Star Dawg (Kate Upton)
- Flowering
- 70–80 days
Two of the most legendary Star Dawg females in existence, the Corey Haim and the Guava cup winner, both hit with the rare Kate Upton stud. An F2 does not reproduce the original, it mines it, which is the whole reason to make one. Hunt either direction. Both are keepers.
The Cross
An F2 comes from crossing two members of the same F1 generation, and its value is specific. It breaks up the uniformity of the F1 and lets recessive traits surface that the first generation kept hidden. That is the entire purpose here. This does not reproduce Star Dawg. It mines it.
Greenpoint took two of the most celebrated Star Dawg females in existence and crossed both to the Kate Upton male, which is a structural anomaly in that line.
The Parents
The story starts in the gravel parking lot of the Deer Creek Music Center in Indiana, June 1991, where a young Greg Krzanowski bought a pound of Dog Bud off two travelers known as Joe Brand and P-Bud. Thirteen seeds came out of it, and those thirteen produced the Chemdog 91, the Chem Sister and the Chem D, plus the Chem 4, which got popped years later when the original crew got back together.
The Chem 4 is the anomaly of the sisters and the heavy producer of the family, throwing forearm sized colas that need staking to keep branches from snapping under their own weight.
To preserve all of it, JJ NYC of Top Dawg Seeds crossed the Chem D to an Afghani #1 male and backcrossed twice, making Tres Dawg. That Afghani introduction is the silent engine of the whole lineage: it cut the flowering cycle from ten plus weeks down to eight or nine, added woody strength to floppy Chem stems, and grounded the line. Star Dawg is Chem 4 crossed to that.
Of the females that came out, the Corey Haim is the knockout and the Guava is the cup champion.
What’s In The Pack
Ten regular photoperiod seeds, males included. The two directions are clear, and the F2 structure means you will also see combinations neither parent expressed.
In The Garden
70-80 days. The Kate Upton influence brings a body that holds itself together, which is the practical improvement over the original line.
Parent-line references: Guava cut.
