Black Cherry Soda crossed onto reversed Platinum Lemon Cherry Gelato. Two cherry lines approaching the same place from opposite directions, one out of the old California purple tradition and one out of Marcel’s Michigan work. New release.

The Cross

The PLCG side was reversed to supply pollen, which makes the whole run feminized and puts the Black Cherry Soda structure underneath.

The Parents

Black Cherry Soda belongs to the group of American purple lines that get their color from genetics rather than from cold shocking a room in the last fortnight. It carries real structure, which is not always true in that category.

Platinum Lemon Cherry Gelato is Marcel’s phenotype selection, known as TheLeafDocta, out of Lemon Cherry Gelato. That cut sat in private Detroit rooms for years and moved between people who had to earn the handshake first.
