Somango

Somango is one of the classic strains from Soma's breeding work and combines several well-known cannabis lines. The genetic is based on Super Skunk, Big Skunk Korean and Jack Herer and is clearly Indica-dominant. Originally, the strain was known as Soma #5 before being renamed Somango due to its characteristic tropical-fruity aroma. Today, it is one of the traditional genetics from Soma's Sacred Seeds.

When cultivated, Somango develops strong, light-coloured stems and a comparatively open plant structure. The flowers grow less compactly than those of many classic Indicas, allowing sufficient air to circulate between the individual areas. This airier structure also makes caring for and later manicuring the plants easier.

However, Somango is particularly well known for its exceptional aroma. Sweet, floral and intensely fruity notes combine to create an exotic flavour profile that is clearly reminiscent of ripe tropical fruits. This characteristic scent was ultimately also the reason for the name Somango and clearly distinguishes the strain aromatically from many earthier or spicier Indica genetics.

Soma Seeds, also called Soma’s Sacred Seeds, goes back to the early seventies. The guy behind it, Soma, was not always in cannabis. He once worked at IBM. Later he ran a vegetarian restaurant and even a bakery. Growing plants came later, but he always lived in a way that leaned natural and organic. That carried over into how he breeds seeds too. It is just how he works.
